Garuda International Cup 2024 Successfully Held, Guangzhou Wins the Championship

Garuda International Cup 2024 was successfully held at the ASIOP Training Ground, Sentul, on Sunday, August 25, 2024.

The team from China, Guangzhou FC, emerged as the champion in the U-17 category after defeating the defending champion, ASIOP. In a fiercely contested final, Guangzhou won with a score of 1-0.

The success of this newcomer team as champions was further enhanced when Guangzhou players swept the individual awards. Huang Haimin was named Best Coach, Fan Mengtong won Best Goalkeeper, and Lou Kai took home two titles: Top Scorer and Best Player.

“Thank you to Indonesia, and thank you to the organizers for putting on such a great event. We are very happy to have participated in this event,” said Huang Haimin. “This is a high-quality event, and we are excited to compete here again next year,” Huang Haimin added.

Meanwhile, Project Director of the Garuda International Cup 2024, Wahyu Budiarto, expressed his gratitude for the success of this event. He explained that the Garuda International Cup 2024 will be even more ambitious in the future, with new teams from abroad. Wahyu Budiarto also thanked the sponsors who supported the youth football tournament. “We would like to thank the sponsors, namely Transtama Logistics, Bank Mandiri, SOMPO Insurance, Tunas Muda Adhyaksa, Ethiopian Airlines, Belfoods, PT Rut Ester Berjaya Medan, Swissbel Hotel Court Bogor, City Trans Utama, Specs, Bluebird, Aqua, Naos, EMC, Glico, and Sunpride, as well as other supporters because with the support of these sponsors, the tournament was able to be successfully held,” said Wahyu.
