Here is the information on the group division for the youth tournament Garuda International Cup (GIC) 2024, which features three age categories: U-10, U-12, and U-17.
GIC 2024 will take place at the ASIOP Training Ground in Sentul, West Java, from August 22-25, 2024.
This annual youth tournament consistently attracts a lot of enthusiastic participants.
In its fourth edition, the tournament will host dozens of clubs from eight Asian countries: Indonesia, China, Japan, Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines, Cambodia, and Singapore, all taking part in the Garuda International Cup 2024.
GIC Project Director Wahyu Budiarto noted that international participation has been growing in GIC 2024.
“China and Japan are bringing strong teams to Indonesia, including Guangzhou Evergrande, known for its reputation in elite Asian competitions, and Zhejiang FC from China,” he said.
Malaysia will be represented by Johor Darul Ta’zim, while Shonan Bellmare from Japan, which competes in J-League 1, and Tokyo Selection will also participate.
“Indonesian teams are fortunate to have the opportunity to compete against such strong opponents. This is one of the best tournaments, not only in Indonesia but, hopefully, in Asia. The hope is that the Garuda International Cup will become Asia’s Gothia Cup,” he concluded.
