Guangzhou FC U-17 performed excellently in the Garuda International Cup 2024, successfully reaching the final match.
Interestingly, Guangzhou FC is one of the debut teams in the Garuda International Cup (GIC) 2024.
In the final match, the Chinese team will face the host, ASIOP Merah, at the ATG Field in Sentul, Bogor Regency, on Sunday (8/24/2024).
It is known that the Guangzhou FC players in GIC 2024 are also being monitored for selection to the China U-17 national team.
There are three prospective China U-17 national team players in the Guangzhou FC team: Guo Wuyue (midfielder), Fan Mengtong (goalkeeper), and Chi Weilin (defender).

Guo Wuyue was the decisive factor in Guangzhou FC’s 1-0 victory over TopSkor Indonesia.

Meanwhile, Fan Mengtong noted the different match atmospheres when competing in China and Indonesia.
“I am happy to be here; I have gained a lot of experience. I also feel the football atmosphere is very different between China and Indonesia,” said Fan Mengtong.
For information, Guangzhou FC is the only team that remains unbeaten in GIC 2024.
In the Group A phase, they defeated their opponents ASIOP Merah (1-0), Woodland Warrior (3-0), and Garuda Lampung (5-0).
In the quarterfinals, Guangzhou FC continued their positive trend with a convincing 8-0 win over the Thai team Vachiralai United.
Finally, in the semifinal held today, TopSkor Indonesia acknowledged Guangzhou FC’s superiority with a final score of 1-0.
